How long does it take to complete an Aptly course?

Aptly courses are offered 100% online and are designed for you to work at your own pace. The duration of each course varies but most can easily be completed within one month at a pace of five hours per week. This weekly commitment includes video lessons and independent assignments. Before you start, we suggest reviewing the content and setting completion goals for each week.

What is the difference between a course and a certificate program?

Professional certificate programs comprise several courses and award a credential from Meta upon completion. These certificate programs build job-ready skills for in-demand careers and have been developed jointly by Aptly and Meta. Current offerings include:

How much experience do I need before I enroll in an Aptly course?

Most Aptly courses are designed for beginners with limited experience in a particular field. Enthusiasm, curiosity, and basic internet skills are all you need!

Who are the instructors for Aptly courses?

Aptly instructors are experienced educators and subject matter experts with varied backgrounds that include digital marketing, data analytics, programming, entrepreneurship, accessibility, instructional design, and more.

What kind of assignments are required?

Assignments are intended to reinforce particular course content. Depending on the course, you may design ads, analyze datasets, evaluate digital content, or respond to discussion posts about the lesson. All tasks will encourage you to apply your skills in practical ways. Quiz-like activities will allow you to demonstrate mastery of learning objectives.

What kind of device do I need for an Aptly course?

Aptly courses can be accessed anywhere via a desktop computer or mobile device. Not all course-related assignments and assessments can be completed on a mobile device, however. Certain peer-review assignments, labs, and graded or ungraded plugins will need to be completed on a desktop computer. We recommend you use the latest version of the Google Chrome browser.

I noticed some courses have a free option—why should I pay for a course instead?

On Coursera, some courses offer an “audit” option, which allows you to participate for free. Auditing is a great way to explore the content and consider if the course is the right fit for you. The course fee provides you with access to additional course features, such as graded assessments and activities. Most importantly, the paid option awards a certificate upon completion of the program which is a valuable distinction for your resume or LinkedIn profile.

If a course is updated after I have completed it, can I access the new material?

Yes! If you have already completed a course and earned a certificate through a paid subscription, your best option is to audit the course to access updates to non-graded content and new material. Learn more about audit and enrollment options from Coursera. To review updates to graded items, you must re-enroll in the course with a paid subscription and reset your deadlines.

Are Aptly courses available in languages other than English?

Some Aptly programs designed with Meta and available on Coursera can be translated into a variety of languages. These translations are created with Coursera’s AI tools and are limited to instructional content only. Instructional services, support services, and content hosted outside of Coursera (such as external websites, plugins, and proctored exams) may only be available in English.

Is financial aid available for Aptly courses?

Yes! All students have the option to apply for financial aid for Aptly courses offered on the Coursera platform. In Coursera, look for the "Financial Aid Available" link on the course page to apply. Please note that financial aid is awarded per course and you must reapply for each course within a specialization. The approval process can take up to 16 days—do not start a free trial or new subscription for the course while you wait for a response, as this will cancel your aid application.

What if I need help during the course?

Each Coursera course has a dedicated online learner community with moderators ready to assist! Just post a message when you need support. Our moderation team includes experienced educators, community specialists, and subject matter experts who are passionate about learner support and quality educational experiences.

Does Aptly offer job placement services?

Aptly does not offer job placement services. We encourage learners to build their networks by connecting through the online course communities and featuring their certificates on LinkedIn. Tip: make sure you follow Aptly on LinkedIn for industry insights, special features, and new course announcements!

Can I receive college credit for taking an Aptly course?
